Drones are pretty cool, I started getting into quadcopters for recording arial video around 2010, well before consumer options were available. I built my first quad in 2010 which was fully manual with simple accelerometer stabilisation.
Fast forward to 2015 when I built a new quad with GPS autopilot, return to home and full gyro stabilised. Also including a brushless gimbal to create really smooth video from the GoPro onboard, which is transmitted to the ground wirelessly.
Drone racing is becoming a big thing at the moment so I couldn’t resist building a mini. That things crazy, stupidly fast and full manual control!
